Sadie Stetson is a super sophomore

St. JOHNSBURY, Vt. – Stetson was named 2016-17 Vermont Girls Basketball Gatorade Player of the Year, recognizing her as the top player in the state. She helped lead her team to the top see in Div. 1 and into the finals against CVU. She also was named Metro Division POY, Burlington Free Press “Miss Basketball,” VBCA (coaches) POY, Caledonian-Record POY, and All-State 1st Team. Stetson has won every major award like CVU’s Laurel Jaunich did a couple of year ago.

Also, she was just recently named USA Today High School Sports’ Vermont girls POY. Keep in mind she’s only a sophomore with two more years to play. She plays her AAU ball for the Lone Wolf Athletics where many of Vermont’s best players play.

For the last twelve years the Vt. Girls Basketball Gatorade POY has been won by a player who played their AAU ball for the Lone Wolf Athletics (2006-2017). The Lone Wolf Athletics is run by Wayne Lafley consisting of four or five girls teams and three or four boys teams of various ages. Players are from all over Vermont and some from the New York area. They are one of the best organizations in the New England and East Coast area.
