2016 Vermont Women’s Mid-Amateur Golf Championship

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. – Brattleboro Country Club is host to this year’s VSWGA mid-amateur golf tournament, being held Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10-11. The event is open to women 35 years and older; Sixty-six women are scheduled to play.

Two-time Mid-Amateur champion Holly Reynolds of Copley CC will be competing. Copely also won her eighth state Amateur title last month at Green Mountain National Golf Club in Killington.

Another two-time Mid-Amateur champion, Reggie Parker of Ekwanok CC, will be in the field as well. Parker is also an eight-time state Senior champion, winning most recently at the Country Club of Barre this July.

Other top contenders and past Mid-Amateur winners are Erika Politano of Green Mountain National GC and Jeanne Morrissey of Williston GC.

The 2015 Mid-Amateur champion, Tiffany Maurycy of Orleans CC, will not be defending her title, as she has qualified to play in the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship Sept. 10-15 at The Kahkwa Club in Erie, Pennsylvania. Maurycy shot a 77 to place second in her qualifying round at Pinehurst CC in Denver, Colorado, on Aug. 18. The U.S. Mid-Amateur is open to women 25 years and older who have a USGA handicap no higher than 9.4. This year’s field is 132 players.

The VSWGA will provide results of its Mid-Amateur tournament after each day of play. Results and photographs also will be available at www.vswga.org.
