LUDLOW, Vt.  – Okemo Mountain School is thrilled to announce that the main portion of our new fitness facility is complete and ready for use by our student athletes! Built to look like a barn, it complements our 19th century OMS academic building, which recently got a little facelift too! The 5,200 square-foot fitness facility houses state of the art strength and conditioning equipment, a yoga and recovery room, a trainer’s office, coaches’ offices, and student-athlete locker rooms.

Within about a month, the second phase of construction, a silo to house our in-ground trampoline will also be complete. The entire OMS community has been eagerly anticipating the opening of this facility and is excited to put it to use.

Mariel Meringolo, OMS head of school, said, “OMS now has an off-snow training facility that is on par with the amazing access we have to on-hill training facilities at Okemo Mountain. I am very pleased to provide this opportunity to our hardworking and dedicated student athletes.”

Okemo Mountain School, celebrating 26 years in operation this winter, is a non-profit educational institution dedicated to the academic and athletic development of serious snow sports athletes. Student athletes are given the opportunity to train in alpine ski racing, snowboarding, or freestyle skiing, while pursuing a rigorous course of academic study. Okemo Mountain School welcomes applicants entering 5-12th grade with a desire to achieve their personal best academically and athletically in a community that fosters a sense of belonging.
