Kurn Hattin hosts cross country invitational

WESTMINSTER, Vt. – For the 27th year, Kurn Hattin Homes sponsored the annual Invitational Cross Country Meet Sept. 19, 2018. Eleven schools participated and a total of 210 runners participated in the event. Schools in the local region were invited to participate in three divisions for groups of students, aged 5 through 15, to run a selected course. Family members, staff, and friends all convened to support the children to promote fun, healthy competition and community spirit.

Division 1 winner of the half mile was Iris from Ludlow in with a time of 3:56 minutes. Division 2 winner of the one mile race was Silas from Chesterfield with a time of 7:03 minutes. Division 3 winner of the 1.5 mile was Kyran from The Grammar School with a time of 9:10. All participants received a ribbon.

Special thanks to Kurn Hattin Athletic Director Dan Barile, and to all of the coaches, volunteers, and participants who help make these races possible each year. Kurn Hattin remains committed to promoting healthy drug free choices and activities for the children entrusted to their care, and for students in the surrounding communities. The second Cross Country Invitational Meet is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. in Fahner Athletic Field.
