LANGDON, N.H. – Senior Jacob Barboza was selected as the Elks student of the month for December 2017. Barboza is the son of Lynette Barboza of Charlestown and David Barboza of Claremont. Barboza has grown to be an exceptional young man during his four years here at Fall Mountain Regional High School. He is a curious student who is always eager to learn, a responsible intern-employee, a generous, caring friend, and well liked by his fellow students. He has been participating in the Fall Mountain job-training program for his sophomore through senior years. He works every morning in the school kitchen making pizzas, helping with food prep, and any other task the team needs done. In the community, he interns at Chroma Technology in Bellows Falls, Vt. where he prepares invoices to mail and operates the postage machine. He prepares specialty boxes for the shipping department and operates the industrial shredder.
In Alstead, N.H., Barboza prepares dessert for Friendly Meals and re-shelves books at the public library. He is looking forward to increasing his job experience and finding rewarding employment when he graduates. Barboza is one of the creators of the Fall Mountain Staff Wellness Center, which is thoroughly enjoyed by the high school teachers and staff! Barboza makes the trail mix, shops for all the items, stocks the shelves, and does the accounting. His academics augment his internship placements, creating a fully, functional learning experience. When he leaves Fall Mountain, he would like a full and fun life as a responsible and valued citizen. The region will be a better place for it!
“Congratulations Jacob, from the Fall Mountain Regional School District and Bellows Falls Elks #1619,” says Chairman Smokey Aumand.
