CHESTER, Vt. – The Chester Historic Preservation Committee is seeking input on uses for both the big Jeffrey Barn near the Stone Village and the Yosemite Fire House. Both historic buildings are located heading north out of Chester Depot on Route 103. Committee members want to follow up on all appropriate community leads and suggestions to ascertain what is both practical and best for Chester and its history.
CHPC is presently interested in the possibility of establishing a Chester Fire Museum at Yosemite and would welcome memorabilia, records, photographs, fire equipment, and other items that would tell the story of the Chester Fire Department. CHPC would also appreciate suggestions of residents or firemen who should be contacted to see if they have any materials to donate.
Anyone with suggestions on uses for the two buildings or memorabilia is encouraged to contact Lillian Willis, chair of the Chester Historic Preservation Committee, at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 802-875-1340.
