CHESTER, Vt. – On Thursday, Aug. 31, Ron Patch and Danny Clemons assisted Kelly Pollard of Bridgewater, N.J., with his family ancestors of Chester, Vt. Pollard visited Plymouth and Ludlow historical societies on Wednesday, Aug. 30, to learn about Pollard history in those towns. Pollard praised those that helped him.
Pollard received royal treatment in Chester, first by being taken to the Pollard family plot in Brookside Cemetery. Here he laid flowers for his great-great-grandmother, Rowena Pollard.
Chester Historical Society was able to provide much information, including his great-great-grandfather’s obituary. Further, he was shown his ancestors’ home on Main Street as well as the “Wrapper Factory” on School Street established by the Pollard family.
