SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Robert H. Douglas, 90, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018 at his home in Springfield. He was born March 3, 1928 in Endicott, N.Y., the son of Alan and Edith (Phileo) Douglas. He attended schools and graduated from high school in New York.
On June 15, 1963, he married Marian Stover in Bartonsville, Vt. She predeceased him July 4, 2014.
He was employed as a machinist with Cone Blanchard in Windsor, Vt. and Bryant Grinder Co. and Fellows Gear Shaper in Springfield for many years. He was also employed as a truck driver with Idlenot Dairy in Springfield, Vt.
He loved playing violin, enjoyed hiking, riding unicycle, and enjoyed word puzzles.
He is survived by his son Geoffrey Douglas of Springfield, daughter Deborah Kopefchny of Toronto, Canada, three grandchildren, one brother David, and four sisters Gladys, Margaret, Elaine, and Mary.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, and by one son Rob Douglas in 2004.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, 2 p.m., at the Andover Community Church in Andover, Vt. Reverend Daryl Martens will officiate.
