SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Robert Aubin, 78, formerly of Springfield, Vt. passed away Aug. 31, 2018 at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was born Jan. 11, 1940 in Woonsocket, R.I., the son of Phillip and Louise (Pratt) Aubin. He attended and graduated high school in Rhode Island. He served in the United States Navy.
He worked for the highway department in Pascoag, R.I. for several years and also in the textile industry in Rhode Island. He moved to Vermont in 1977 and worked for several years as a machinist with the Fellows Gear Shaper. In 1994, he moved to Florida where he has resided since.
He was a member and past governor of the Springfield, Vt. Moose Lodge and a member of the Moose Lodge in Largo, Fla. He enjoyed playing darts for many years.
He is survived by one sister Lynda Howard of Claremont, N.H.; two brothers Donald Aubin and Ronald Aubin of Claremont, N.H.; and by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Jean, his first wife Rita (Baker) Aubin March 29, 1980, and by his second wife Barbara (Fortunato) Aubin Aug. 31, 2017.
Friends may call at the Davis Memorial Chapel Monday morning, Sept. 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10 at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vt. Reverend Peter Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Springfield.
A reception will follow the services at the Time Out Americana Grill in Claremont, N.H.
