LUDLOW, Vt. – Rachel Ida Morrison, 98, passed away into the arms of Jesus on Jan. 4, 2018 at the Gill Odd Fellows Home in Ludlow, Vt., with family by her side. She was born Sept. 2, 1919 in Cavendish, Vt., the daughter of Elton and Flora (Tucker) Brown. She attended school in Cavendish. She was married to Kenneth A. Morrison. He predeceased her in 1992.
Morrison enjoyed being with her family and friends, reading, especially her Bible, doing crossword puzzles, and watching Jeopardy. She was a member of the Ludlow Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Elwin “Butch” Morrison of Keene, N.H.; three daughters Linda Kingsbury of Ludlow, Vt., Sheila May of New Ipswich, N.H., and Kathy Morrison of Keene, N.H.; along with 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by nine brothers and sisters, and one grandchild.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Hillcrest Cemetery. Details will be announced at a later date. Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vt., is assisting with arrangements.
