LUDLOW, Vt. – Elsa L. Sydorowich, 84, died Aug. 24, 2018 after a brief illness. She peacefully passed away in her sleep at the Gill Odd Fellows Home in Ludlow.
She was born in College Point, N.Y., Aug. 14, 1934, daughter of Erwin and Elsa (Thunquist) Preusch.
Elsa was a graduate of Flushing High School in Flushing, N.Y. In February 1957, she married Robert Sydorowich from Little Neck, N.Y.
In 1962, they moved to a small 52-acre farm in Boynton Hollow in Andover, Vt. There she had large flower and vegetable gardens and she helped raise horses, ducks, chickens, and many other farm animals including a raccoon named Rocky. She also loved animals and picked up many stray dogs, cats, and birds. She nursed them back to health and gave them a loving home. They all loved her.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and hooking rugs.
Surviving are her husband Robert Sydorowich of Ludlow; a son Matthew Sydorowich and wife Janie of Ludlow; a brother Harry Preusch of Kansas City, Kan.; two grandchildren Holly and Danielle Sydorowich; and sister in-law Jennie Sydorowich. She was predeceased by a brother Helmut Preusch.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
