SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Colleen B. Fisk, 87, passed away on Wednesday evening March 8, 2017 at the Springfield Health & Rehab. Center in Springfield, Vt. She was born March 12, 1929 in Springfield, Vermont the daughter of Sydney and Beatrice (Putnam) Burke. She attended Springfield Schools and graduated from Springfield High School.
As a teenager she worked at Wheeler’s Pharmacy in Springfield, later she worked in the Blue Print Room at Vermont Research Company in Springfield.
She was married to John Watkins, he predeceased her, she later married Lindell Fisk and he also predeceased her.
She was a member of the V.F.W. Post 771 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Springfield Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and bird watching.
She is survived by five sons – Michael Watkins of Springfield, Thomas Watkins of Springfield, Jeffrey Watkins of Tucson, Ariz., Ronald Watkins of Cavendish, and Rodney Watkins of Springfield. Two daughters – Jean Handley and Susan Watkins both of Springfield. Two brothers – Wayne Burke of Springfield and Lyle Burke of S.C. Eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, eight siblings and one grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday March 17, 2017 at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield. Ernest “Puggy” Lamphere will officiate.
Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Springfield, Vermont at a later date.
