SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Alice Potter, 83, passed away Monday morning, Sept. 3, 2018 at Springfield Hospital. She was born Aug. 18, 1935 in Amsden, Vt., the daughter of the late Asiel and Julia (Merrill) Town and the youngest of six children.
She lived in Rockingham, Vt. for many years, most recently residing at Sterling House in Bellows Falls, Vt. Alice loved square dancing, bowling, and traveling. She was active in the Springfield Senior Center, playing cribbage for many years and going on many bus trips with the Road Runners.
Alice is survived by a daughter Emily Nichols of Keene, N.H. and a son Eric Potter. She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three brothers Roger Town, Arthur Town, and Clarence Town, and by two sisters Phyllis Hall, and Myrtle Baker.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at the Plain Cemetery in Perkinsville, Vt. Ernest “Puggy” Lamphere will officiate.
