LONDONDERRY, Vt. – The Nordic Rocks program was developed to provide elementary school students with an opportunity to experience Nordic skiing with a clear pathway to further advancement in the sport. By participating in the Nordic Rocks program, Flood Brook School is introducing a new generation to a healthy lifestyle and lifelong activity. The National Winter Sports Education Foundation in conjunction with USSA and the local Nordic ski club, West River Nordic, has provided Flood Brook School with 30 pairs of Nordic skis that physical education teacher Mark Weikert can use during class time. They have also provided detailed, age-appropriate lesson plans, and West River Nordic will provide volunteer mentors and equipment assistance. A big Thank You goes out to Mark Weikert, John Ogden of West River Nordic, USSA and the National Winter Sports Educational Foundation for bringing Nordic Rocks to Flood Brook!
