Whiting Library announces new youth services librarian

CHESTER, Vt. – Whiting Library is delighted to announce that the new youth services librarian is Jeanne Waldren. Many of you already know her from “Grandma Jeanne” Story-time and theatrical workshops held in Chester. Jeanne has assisted the library during past summer reading programs and will be returning to the library with her impressive experience and skills.

Jeanne holds a B.A. in English and a certificate in early childhood education. She has worked as a tutor for Reading Program-Community Education in Keene, N.H., and at Shed-Porter Memorial Library in Alstead, N.H. At Whiting Library she has served as a children’s librarian, program librarian, and most recently in the Youth Services interim position.

Her hobbies include a variety of art forms, reading and creative writing, music and collecting music of the past as well as theatre, gardening and nature exploration. She is also fluent in American Sign Language.

Please drop into the children’s room to welcome her. The Whiting Library is located at 117 Main St., Chester.
