2018 fall kick off community barbecue and potluck

BROWNSVILLE, Vt. – Join us at Tribute Park in Brownsville Saturday, Sept. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. for a community barbecue and potluck, which will include family fun and games. This community barbecue is hosted by Brownsville Community Church-sponsored organizations and committees – Trail Life USA, American Heritage Girls, Christian Education Team & Outreach Committee. The volunteer hosts will serve up hamburgers, hotdogs, and soft drinks. Community attendees are asked to bring a favorite salad or dessert to share. In lieu of potluck dishes, cash donations will be gratefully accepted.

Our hosts have planned some fun, interesting, and challenging activities. The AH Girls will lead a STEM project and team building. The Trail Life boys will be demonstrating some of the skills they learned this past year. The BCC Christian Education Team will unveil their programs for the coming year.

With us at the barbecue will be Lauren Stevens and Peter Varkonyi, co-founders of Brownsville Butcher and Pantry. Lauren and Peter look forward to meeting everyone and will not only enjoy the barbecue with us but will also be available to answer questions and describe their dream. Peter said he’s ready to roll up his sleeves to help the Trail Life Boys cook our hamburgers and hot dogs over an open fire. Lauren looks forward to helping the American Heritage Girls lay out the potluck goodies brought by members of our community.

Tribute Park and the Brownsville Community Church are located on the Brownsville-Hartland Road, between Albert Bridge School and the Brownsville Town Hall.
