Joseph Sawyer, President of BFFM wrote the market’s mission statement which reads, in part, “We are the Bellows Falls Farmers Market Cooperative, founded in 2003, on the belief that a great food system leads to a resilient, healthy, thriving community. We are building a cross-Connecticut River collaborative of farmers, educators, artisans and families. It is through this grand undertaking that we shall build a sustainable community that will nurture our children, their children and their children’s children.”
Visitors can expect to find fresh vegetables and fruit, local meats, cheese, bread & baked goods, eggs, pickles, jams & jellies, coffee, chocolates, soap, handcrafted jewelry, local artisans and live music.
According to Hartigan and Hawkins, who manage the market, “We think it’s the perfect way to end the week with your family and friends while supporting local vendors and creating community. Sustainably-raised food, artisan goods, and free live music and activities for children in a beautiful environment… who could ask for more?”
