WINDSOR, Vt. – Johanna Beliveau, BSN, MBA, RN has been named Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Compliance at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC). The newly created position is part of the Hospital’s Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to Dr. Joseph Perras, CEO.
As Director, Beliveau will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality and patient safety initiatives, and ensuring compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations.
Before joining Mt. Ascutney Hospital, Beliveau served as Associate Chief Nursing Officer at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), as well as DHMC’s Administrative Director of Patient Care Services, Director of Nursing Quality and Patient Safety, and Senior Clinical Quality Specialist. Prior to her tenure at DHMC, she was Clinical Process Manager and Quality Specialist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and performed a variety of roles in hospice care organizations, from Nurse Manager to Director of Hospice Services. A registered nurse, Beliveau received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fitchburg State College in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, in 1995, followed by a Master of Business Administration from Rosemont College in Rosemont, Pennsylvania in 2011.
Among her many certifications and professional accomplishments, she is a Nurse Director Fellow with the American Organization of Nurse Executives, earned the designation of Lean Sigma Six Black Belt, and is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the American Nurses Association, the Organization of Nurse Leaders, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Dr. Joseph Perras, CEO of MAHHC, called Beliveau an important addition to Hospital leadership, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome her to the Mt. She has used her skills to exceed operational performance targets and improve clinical outcomes.”
According to Dr. Perras, the new position creates a unified role with a focus on quality and compliance issues. Beliveau’s initial tasks at MAHHC will include a hospital-wide assessment of quality and patient safety programs as the organization prepares for an upcoming Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services survey. She will work closely with A.J. Tapley, newly named Associate Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Compliance.
