BRATTLEBORO, Vt. – The Sustainable Energy Outreach Network (SEON) will host another presentation for the public on “The World of High Performance Building” on Monday, March 27 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Marlboro Graduate Center in Brattleboro.

The best designers and architects are designing and building homes very differently than they did a few years ago due to easily accessible knowledge and improved materials and methods. They’re building houses that use and consume fewer resources and are more durable and long lasting than most of what is still being built on a day-to-day basis.

Two SEON members, Chad Mathrani of Vermont Natural Homes and Bob Swinburne of Bluetime Collaborative, will discuss the state of high performance home building and renovation in the region. Topics will include defining high performance homes, financing possibilities and issues, and the process of designing, building and renovating a home to be a high performance home. The program will be targeted toward people who are considering buying, building or renovating a home. Bring your questions.

This forum will be held at the Marlboro Graduate Center, Room 2E, 28 Vernon Street, Brattleboro. Pre-registration is recommended due to space limitations. Send RSVPs or questions to admin@seon.info. Light refreshments will be served. Admission is by donation. SEON is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes the understanding and implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy technology.
