WALPOLE, N.H.- Distant Hill Gardens wanted to let you all know that your 2016 donations have been put to work improving the Accessibility of Distant Hill Gardens.
This past they added another 900 feet of accessible trail to Distant Hill Nature Trail, a trailhead kiosk, and a small parking area. That makes almost a mile of gently sloping gravel trails to explore on your next visit. Hopefully they will be adding more trails in the fall.
In addition to the trail work mentioned above, they also seeded a 1/10 acre wildflower pollinator planting at the very beginning of the trail. With luck there will be some flowers for the bees and butterflies this season, with many more over the next few years.
After four years of hard work Distant Hill Nature Trail is now open to the public free of charge seven days a week, dawn to dusk. The trailhead is located just east of the entrance to Distant Hill Gardens on 507 March Hill Road.
