Community art project begins on Clinton Street

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – On Saturday, July 29 the Springfield Art Gym began a community art project. Volunteers met at the stairs across the street from the Edgar May Health and Recreation Center located on Clinton Street. The step faces were previously cleared and primed. For a couple of hours the group spray-painted the steps with a mixture of metallic colors that would show through when the gear stencils were laid on top and painted black.

“We are a community that plays together,” says Mona Frye, one of the founders of the Springfield Art Gym.

There will be two more community art projects in August that will replicate the one done of Clinton Street.
