BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – It is a pleasure to announce that Colin King has been named the Bellows Falls Union High School Feb. Elk’s student of the month. Colin, a senior, is the son of Terry King of Westminster, and the late Tammy Shattuck of Bellows Falls.

As a dedicated student, Colin is clearly deserving of this award. Colin works hard in his classes and is always willing to put in the extra time needed to improve his skills. He is concerned about doing well therefore he has applied himself to his work, and works hard to overcome challenges. Colin is a good role model to others, and he leads by example.

Not only does Colin work hard in his classes at BFUHS, but also he is dedicated to the Carpentry II program at the River Valley Technical Center in Springfield. He is conscientious, responsible and goes out of his way to help his classmates and teachers. Enthusiastic to do more than is expected, Colin is a pleasure to have in class and refreshing to work with. In addition to doing well in school, Colin works 20-30 hours a week in a local hardware store.

Colin comes to school every day, eager to do whatever he needs to do to learn and be successful. If he is absent, he is pro-active and meets with his teachers and makes up his work in a timely fashion.

Not only dedicated to his academics and job, Colin is often seen helping in the community. He has volunteered at the local soup kitchen, has worked in the garden for Our Place, and helped at the local recycling center.

Congratulations go to Colin; BFUHS is proud to have him represent us this month with this award.
