Mighty Acorns Club in Grafton
October 20, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 pm
An event every month that begins at 10:00am on day Third of the month, repeating indefinitely
GRAFTON, VT—The Nature Museum offers the Mighty Acorns Club, a pre-school program designed for young explorers to discover the wonders of nature. This club for budding naturalists aged 3-5 and their caregivers meets on the third Thursday of every month of the school calendar year. “Brilliant and Beautiful Bats” takes place on Thursday, October 20 from 10–11:30 a.m. at the Nature Museum.
The Mighty Acorns Club Environmental Educator Leah Kotok enjoys teaching to such wide-eyed wonderers because they are able to see the magic in nature. This month we’re going to be investigating bats—not just a key part of Halloween but some of the most important animals in our ecosystem.
Through stories, games, hands-on items and a craft, the October program will cover the life of a bat and how bats are able to sweep through the sky, never bumping into a house or tree. It will also explain how they live and what they eat, along with why bats are so beneficial to the environment.
The cost per child and caregivers are free. Children should bring a snack and clothes for outside. Drops-ins welcome! Pre-registration is encouraged but is not required.
