Main Street Arts, Saxtons River Historical Society conclude fireside chat series

SAXTONS RIVER, Vt. – Main Street Arts and the Saxtons River Historical Society concludes the Fireside Chats series Sunday, Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the dining room of the Saxtons River Inn with a topic, “ the building of the Long Trail.” Mike DeBonis, executive director of the Green Mountain Club, talks about James Taylor’s dream of founding a trail through Vermont for his Vermont Academy students. The result was the 272-mile Long Trail built by the Green Mountain Club between 1910 and 1930.
The event is no charge, with donations accepted. Those attending are invited to bring their own memories and memorabilia to share in this informal setting.
