Gil Perry and Charles Norris-Brown reception and show
May 19 @ 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 7:00am, repeating until June 16, 2017
SAXTONS RIVER, Vt. – There will be a combined show of the artists Gil Perry and Charles Norris-Brown at Main Street Arts in Saxtons River between May 1 and June 16, 2017. Perry of Springfield, Vermont will be showing selections from his work in landscape oils and from graphite fantasy drawings. Norris-Brown of Bellows Falls VT will be showing images plus narrative from his children’s book Did Tiger Take the Rain?
Gil Perry has been an artist since the early 1970s beginning with fantasy and visionary drawings and moving into plein air oil painting in the 1980s. His art reflects a quiet incandescence in the play of light and shadow in rural Vermont landscapes.
Norris-Brown’s academic background is anthropology. Post-doctoral work took him from India, to Borneo, to Appalachia, and to Canada where his focus was on people of the forests and on their place in the health of the ecosystem. His book and graphite, charcoal, ink and watercolor illustrations connect children with Nature.
The opening reception will be May 4 between 5 and 7:30 p.m. at Main Street Arts.
