STDC reminds residents to submit their energy actions

Dear Editor,

Last month, members of the Springfield Town Democratic Committee (STDC) helped promote energy efficiency by participating in a Button Up Vermont campaign. We had a presence at the Springfield Transfer Station and talked to hundreds of people. One thing was abundantly clear: Vermonters are energy efficient. For many people it is an economic reality; for others it is a matter of a commitment to our planet.

This letter is a reminder to the folks who pledged to take an energy efficient action to register your action online, especially when you have completed your action(s). That makes you eligible for the weekly raffle drawing. The link to do that is:

For those of you who did not see us at the transfer station, a member of the STDC will be at the Springfield Town Library on Tuesdays until the end of November from 3 to 4 p.m., on the second floor. Sign up for an “action” and receive a free LED bulb. It’s that easy.

Thanks to Dan Farrar and the transfer station staff for being such kind hosts. Thanks to all the folks who took time to talk to us about energy efficiency.

Remember, efficiency saves money and saves energy!

Thank you,

Char Osterlund

Chair, STDC

Springfield, Vt.
