In January, the Springfield Energy Committee launched a Weatherization Campaign in collaboration with Vital Communities, a non-profit group devoted to promoting sustainability in communities.
This campaign is soon coming to a close with a March 31 deadline for participants to register. It is a program designed to encourage Vermonters to seal and insulate their homes. This makes your house warmer, saves money on your heating bill, and reduces your energy use.
Participating contractors will give a free energy walk through and estimate. You can then decide if you want to make improvements and which ones to make, if not all of them. Once the work is completed, participants qualify for rebates, and if they sign a contract by May 31 are entered in a raffle to win a $500 rebate.
Go to www.VitalCommunities.org/Weatherize to register online or contact Char Osterlund email@example.com. Remember, Saturday, March 31 is the deadline to take register and take advantage of these perks.
