LANDGON, N.H. – Heard of a Christmas Cookie exchange? On Oct. 7, Jam Slam and Tool Trot offer the opportunity to sample, swap, and exchange homemade canned goods, recipes and tools with other members of your community. Listen to live music, play old time games, watch trade demonstrations, buy from local vendors, and win prizes. This free community event celebrates the Yankee Swapping tradition by inviting community members to pack up those prized tools, family recipes, surplus jams, jellies, pickles and preserves and show them off and swap them.

Tool Trot offers the opportunity to swap and exchange tools while hosting demonstrations and displays of traditional tools bringing together tool users, collectors, and those who remember when work was done by hand. Meanwhile Jam Slam offers the opportunity to add variety to your pantry shelves and recipe boxes. If you’re like a lot of us, your pantry shelf is overflowing with a lot of canned items. Bring as many jars as you’re looking to swap plus one for sampling. Tables and utensils (plates and tasting sticks) will be provided.
