CHESTER, Vt. – Summer is finally here! Need another bathing suit? Shorts? A cool summer outfit with all the accessories including sandals? Then head to the Chester-Andover Family Center Thrift Shop! The Shop also has a huge assortment of baby/toddler clothing, ladies slacks and capris, bedding, and throw pillows. Each of your purchases help support the Center’s emergency financial assistance program and provide supplemental food for individuals and people in need. Come on down and check us out!!
A very special thanks to Chester Townscape for planting all of the beautiful flowers along the Center’s fence and sign!! They not only improve the appearance of the Center, but also improve the entrance to Chester. Your efforts are most appreciated!! Thanks also to our volunteers, Jay and Chris Blodgett, for power washing the Center’s building!! Looks like new again!
The Center’s Thrift Shop is blessed with huge amounts of donated items for which the Board and volunteers are very grateful. In the future it would be extremely helpful if donations could be made in smaller amounts at a time. For example, bring one large trash bag or two or three small grocery bags filled with items at one time. The Center’s sorting area is limited and lesser amounts at one time would be most appreciated.
The Thrift Shop is still experiencing items being left in front of the Center when closed. These items are subject to the weather, then are not usable, and become costly to discard. PLEASE help the Center by bringing items during regular hours only.
Thrift Shop hours are: Tuesday, 10 to 4, Wednesday, 12 to 6, Friday, 10 to 4, and Saturday, 9 to 2. Food Shelf hours are 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. every Thursday and Friday 11:30 to 1:00 for Produce Pickup.
