Spring Concert Extravaganza start up begins

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Springfield Community Chorus  is starting it’s spring season of it’s 50th year by  inviting  new members to join. No tryouts are required. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church at 21 Fairground Road. Ken Olsson is the director.   The first rehearsal starts on Jan 9th with a 6:30 p.m. time for registration.  For any questions, contact Terri, manager of the chorus, at springfieldcommunitychorus@gmail.com or call Barbara at 886-1777.  The  concert weekend will be May 6th and 7th. The Spring concerts will be in collaboration with the Bennington Choral Society. Combined choruses will sing the fourth movement of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony accompanied by a full orchestra. The May 6th concert will be sung in Bennington and the May 7th concert will be in Springfield. The choruses will also be singing a world premiere choral work by a Vermont composer, Zeke Hecker.
