LUDLOW, Vt. – Looking for something to do on a cold February evening? Come join us on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. for an evening of fun, and at the same time support a really good cause – the Black River Good Neighbor’s food shelf. FOLA (Friends of Ludlow Auditorium) will feature the classic musical, “The Sound of Music,” in a unique sing-along format in the Ludlow Town Hall Auditorium on 37 Depot Street.
Julia Andrews and the rest of the wonderful cast will still be there singing all the great Rodgers and Hammerstein music we all remember from this great production. You’ll also be part of the musical by singing along with them! If you want, you can dress up for your favorite cast member – Maria, a nun, the baroness, the captain, etc. – or just come and sing your favorite songs by following the large captioned lyrics on the screen.
The sing-along version of this movie has become a world favorite since it offers everyone the opportunity to sing songs they love along side the great cast led by Julie Andrews, the Captain, and the von Trapp kids.
Audrey Bridge of BRGN, a long time participant in this sing-along version, noted, “Even if you don’t have a great singing voice, there will be plenty of us to blend with you.”
This will be a fun and memorable family experience. So get ready to sing “Climb Every Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweis,” and, of course, “The Sound of Music.”
This wonderful evening is open to everyone so clear your throat and get ready to sing.
There is no admission fee, but we are asking for a small donation per person to the food shelf. Space is limited so donate today and reserve seats, or donate at the door.
