Grafton Cornet Band open rehearsals

GRAFTON, Vt. – As the Grafton Cornet Band starts its 150th anniversary year, the band welcomes all band players to their pre-season rehearsals. The rehearsals are all on Sunday afternoons, April 9, 23, and 30, and May 21, 2-4 p.m. with a refreshment break, upstairs in the Old Fire Station at 217 Main St. in Grafton. This traditional community band keeps its historic, 150-year-old name although all band instruments are now welcome, not just cornets. The Grafton Cornet Band is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
On May 30, 2017, the band will play for the 150th time at the Grafton Memorial Day commemoration. That’s every year since the national holiday was declared. Anyone with band experience is welcome to sit in and be a part of this moving tradition of remembrance. More information: GraftonBand.org or call Dan Axtell, secretary, 802-387-4145.
