665 VT Route 10
The Old Town Farm is a classic 1861 Vermont B & B right in the heart of the Okemo Valley region, owned by Alex and Michiko Hunter. Just off the tourist routes, very accessible, midway between Chester, Ludlow and Springfield, Vermont. One of the areas best lodging values, and the only country inn in the region offering traditional Japanese Cuisine.
Bed and Breakfast is only the beginning – The Old Town Farm is your home away from home. The common room beckons with its stone floor and fireplace. A great place for trading lies, playing games, or good old fashioned getting acquainted. Each room is unique; some are suites set up for families. Each has extremely comfortable beds with comfortable residential mattresses. Puffy quilts grace each immaculately clean guest room or suite.
Get your day started with a real country breakfast. Fresh eggs… you’ll never get them this fluffy or yellow in the supermarket… home fries cooked the old fashioned way, either ham or maple cured sausage or bacon, pancakes, French toast, or fresh cooked yeast batter waffles, and of course pure maple syrup made locally. Lots of fresh fruits to finish. A breakfast to make a farmer smile.
End your perfect day day with a perfect meal. Japanese chef Michiko will amaze and delight you with her traditional yet creative appetizers, entrees and desserts. Savor the flavors that have made ToKai-Tei, her family’s restaurant in Honshu a favorite for over one hundred and twenty years. Try the Unagi kabayaki that was the emperor Taisho’s favorite in the 1920’s and 1930’s. If you’re a sushi lover, you’ll absolutely love what she has for you.
